Spanish for Heritage Learners 163

This course is designed for Heritage learners to develop basic language skills in all four domains: speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Students will be able to show basic control of language in their writing, and be able to identify the topic in written texts. Unit themes focus on the development of personal identity. Literature of the following genres will be studied: short story, novel, and poetry. Current events throughout the Spanish speaking world based on unit themes are also introduced.

Prerequisite:

  • Placement determined by the Aprenda assessment.
    AND
  • Teacher recommendation.
