Child Growth and Development 161

This course introduces students to the development of the child from conception through the school-age years. Topics such as how to work well with children, developmentally age appropriate activities, components of development (social-emotional, physical, cognitive and language) development of children are discussed in addition to pregnancy related topics. The simulated infant (flour sack baby) and computer simulated infant are key learning experiences. Upon completion of this course students will earn a “Gateways ECE Credential Level 1”.
