Japanese 473
This Pre-AP language and culture course helps students continue to develop their competence within the context of culturally rich thematic units based on the six AP themes. Performance-based activities allow students to speak and write independently in unfamiliar situations with an increased level of proficiency. Interpretive listening and reading tasks focus on both literal comprehension and inferential interpretation. A variety of authentic print, audio and video materials, from media and literary sources, provide the basis for exploration and comparisons of the Japanese speaking culture(s). Classroom communication requires a higher level of language proficiency and takes place exclusively in Japanese.
Prerequisite:
- Recommendation of Japanese 373 teacher.
AND - Approval of Instructional Supervisor for World Languages.
